Sailing from Fort Lauderdale
Port Everglades sits immediately south of Fort Lauderdale’s airport, and the transfer between them is about ten minutes. Nothing else in cruising is that convenient, and for anyone flying in on the morning of departure (which is still not advisable, but happens), it is the port where that is least likely to end badly.
It is also the quieter of the two South Florida ports. Fewer ships, more space on the roads in, and a terminal complex that is easier to navigate on foot.

and Ft. Lauderdale, which is why a search elsewhere may show you half the
sailings. The count on this page covers both.
This is the transatlantic port. Port Everglades has the depth and the berths for the largest ships, so the spring and fall repositioning sailings to and from Europe overwhelmingly leave from here rather than Miami.
The beach is fifteen minutes from the pier. If you have a day either side, Fort Lauderdale beach is a genuinely nice place to spend it, which is not something you can say of every homeport.
