Your Ship

AmaSintra

Built to the exact size of five Portuguese locks, and no larger

Aboard

  • Christened at Porto in April 2025, the newest ship on the Douro
  • 260 feet long and 37 feet wide because the Douro's locks admit nothing bigger
  • 183 feet shorter than AmaWaterways' Danube and Rhine hulls, and 60 guests smaller
  • Built at the WestSEA yard at Viana do Castelo, in Portugal
  • 38 crew to 102 guests, a better ratio than anything else in the European fleet
  • Sails the Douro exclusively and physically cannot leave it
