Your Ship
Celebrity Summit
One of the few cruise ships ever built with gas turbines, stripped back to bare steel in 2019
Aboard
- Built in 2001 at Chantiers de l'Atlantique as Summit, renamed with the Celebrity prefix in 2008
- Driven by two General Electric gas turbines rather than diesels
- Rebuilt in March 2019 under the Celebrity Revolution program: every cabin redone, thirty added
- At 105 feet in the beam, narrow enough for the original Panama Canal locks
- Alaska from Vancouver in summer, Caribbean from Tampa and San Juan in winter
